Pet products

Pet products on marketplaces, listed properly and kept compliant.

Pet owners buy food, treats and accessories online again and again. We run your marketplace listings, pricing and stock so you're ready for those repeat orders, with labelling and claims handled properly.

The problem

Pet products sell well online, but the rules and the margins are tighter than they look.

We build compliant listings, set delivery and pricing to protect your margin and keep your accounts healthy, so repeat customers keep finding you. We can also get your products into the right independent pet shops through retail and wholesale.

Labelling rules online

Pet food has legal labelling requirements, and most of that information must appear in your listing, not just on the bag.

Claims that cross the line

Words like calming, joint care or itch relief can turn a product description into a medicinal claim you're not allowed to make.

Heavy, low-margin orders

Large sacks of food, beds and hutches are costly to send. Get delivery settings wrong and repeat orders lose money.

Where to sell

The channels that suit you. And why.

Amazon

The obvious first stop for food, treats and everyday essentials. Heavy and Bulky delivery options cover large items such as hutches and kennels.

Marketplace guide →

eBay

Strong for accessories, bedding and equipment, with clear published rules on which pet medicines may be sold.

Marketplace guide →

TikTok Shop

Pets are a natural fit for short videos, which suits toys, grooming products and novel accessories.

Marketplace guide →

OnBuy

A UK general marketplace that works well as an extra channel for established pet ranges with good product data.

Marketplace guide →

The Range

A home and leisure retailer with a growing marketplace open to applications, worth a look for beds, bowls and outdoor pet housing.

Watch out for

What makes this category different.

Pet food labelling law

Pet food in Great Britain falls under assimilated Regulation (EC) 767/2009 on feed marketing and labelling. Labels must say whether it's a complete or complementary feed and show the composition, analytical constituents, feeding instructions, batch number, net quantity and business name and address.

Label information must be online too

When you sell feed at a distance, the mandatory label information must appear in the listing or be given before the sale is made. Only a few details, such as the batch number, net quantity and minimum storage life, can wait until delivery.

No medicinal claims

Feed labels can't claim a product will prevent, treat or cure a disease. The Veterinary Medicines Directorate's 2026 guidance covers feeds, supplements and calmers, counts product pages and social posts as advertising and says disclaimers don't protect you.

Flea and tick treatments are medicines

Veterinary medicines classed as AVM-GSL can be sold without legal restrictions, but online sellers of POM-V, POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines must register with the VMD. On Amazon UK, NFA-VPS and POM-VPS products need approval and POM-V medicines are prohibited.

How we help

What we do for you.

Listings that meet the rules

We build listings with the full label information marketplaces and the law expect, written to be found in search without risky health claims.

Listing optimisation →

Delivery data for heavy items

Accurate weights, sizes and delivery settings for big bags of food, beds and hutches, so heavy orders don't wipe out your margin.

Product feeds →

Pricing reviews

We review competing offers on your products and recommend price and promotion changes for your approval, so you stay competitive on the items people reorder.

Account health and policy warnings

We keep an eye on policy notices and listing flags and fix the cause quickly, before a claims issue turns into a blocked listing.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Do we need to show the full pet food label in our listings?
Most of it, yes. For feed sold at a distance, the mandatory labelling information must appear in the listing or be provided before the sale. A few details, such as the batch number and minimum storage life, can be provided on delivery instead. We build this into every pet food listing.
Can we say our supplement helps joints or calms anxious dogs?
Be careful. Feed can't be described as preventing, treating or curing a disease, and the VMD says product pages, social posts and customer reviews you control all count. We write descriptions that explain what a product is and how to use it without straying into medicinal claims.
Can we sell flea and tick treatments on marketplaces?
It depends on how the product is classified. AVM-GSL medicines have no legal restrictions on retail supply, while online sellers of POM-V, POM-VPS and NFA-VPS products must register with the VMD. Marketplaces add their own rules: Amazon UK needs approval for some classes and prohibits POM-V, and eBay bans repackaged flea and tick treatments.
Which marketplace should a pet business start on?
Usually Amazon, for its reach, with eBay or TikTok Shop next depending on your range. Category rules change, so we check whether your exact products need approval first. Book a free 20-minute demo and we'll look at your range, show where it could sell next and what it would cost.
What does it cost for a pet product business?
Pet ranges grow quickly once you add sizes, flavours and multipacks, and the work often covers pricing reviews, promotions and stock syncing. Costs depend on the channels you want to sell on, how many products you have and how much help you need. We give you a clear quote after a free 20-minute demo.
