Competitor insights

Know what's selling, and where you fit.

We track competitors' prices, listings and reviews and the demand in your category, then turn it into specific actions: what to price, what to fix and what to launch next.

The problem

Many businesses only notice a competitor when they lose a sale to them.

We gather the evidence, compare it with your products and give you a short list of actions each month.

Price changes you hear about late

A competitor's price cut or faster delivery promise can take the Buy Box from you on Amazon, where total price and delivery speed both count.

Reviews nobody reads

Competitors' one and two-star reviews tell you what shoppers wish was better. It's free product research that's easy to overlook.

Guessing at demand

Without data, new products and new marketplaces are a gamble. eBay's completed listings show what similar items actually sold for, and Amazon's Brand Analytics shows trends in customers' searches and purchases.

What we do

What's included. Done by the people you talk to.

Price and offer tracking

We track competing offers on your key products: price, delivery promise, stock and who holds the Buy Box.

Listing comparison

Titles, images, A+ Content and keywords compared side by side, so you can see where your listings fall behind and why.

Review analysis

We read competitors' reviews, and yours, to find repeated complaints and the features shoppers care about most.

Search demand

We use marketplace data, such as Amazon Brand Analytics if you're in Brand Registry and eBay's completed listings, to judge demand for products and keywords.

New product opportunities

Gaps in the market, variations competitors don't offer and related products your customers also buy, each with the evidence behind it.

Marketplace fit

Which marketplaces your competitors sell on, how they price there and whether there's room for you. See marketplace launches.

What you get
  • A clear picture of who you're up against on each marketplace.
  • Pricing decisions based on evidence, not guesswork.
  • Ideas for new products and variations, with the reasoning behind them.
  • Listing improvements drawn from what shoppers say about competitors.
How it works

From first call to running.

1

Pick the competitors

We agree with you which competitors and products to track on each marketplace.

2

Gather

We collect prices, listings, reviews and search data for your category.

3

Analyse

We compare it with your own performance and pick out what matters.

4

Act

Your monthly growth strategy turns the findings into specific actions. For larger catalogues, pricing and competitor monitoring can be ongoing.

FAQ

Competitor insights questions.

Where does the data come from?
Mostly from the marketplaces themselves: competitor listings, prices and reviews, plus tools such as Amazon Brand Analytics for businesses in Brand Registry and eBay's completed listings search. If we use other research tools, we tell you which.
Will you copy our competitors' listings?
No. We use competitor listings to understand what shoppers expect, then write your own. Copying other sellers' text or photos can break marketplace rules and someone else's copyright.
How often do we get insights?
Insights feed into your monthly growth strategy. Where you need it, pricing and competitor monitoring can be ongoing, alongside weekly optimisation.
Do we need Brand Registry for this?
No, but it helps. Brand Analytics comes with Amazon Brand Registry. Without it, we rely on public marketplace data and other research.
Can you tell us what our competitors sell?
We can estimate it. Marketplaces don't publish other sellers' sales figures, so we use signals such as sold listings on eBay, review counts and price history, and we always say how confident we are.
