Etsy shop management that keeps you found and within the rules.

We look after your Etsy listings, tags, pricing and service standards, and check everything against Etsy's Creativity Standards. Your shop stays in your name, and nothing changes without your approval.

Selling on Etsy

Etsy shops get buried when listings aren't kept fresh, well tagged and within the rules.

Polymerchant keeps your Etsy shop compliant, well tagged and priced with every fee in view, with stock synced to your other channels, so it doesn't run on spare time.

Fees that add up

Listing, transaction, payment processing and regulatory fees all apply, and Offsite Ads can take another 12% or 15% of an order. Price without them in view and good sales can still mean thin profit.

Rules on what you can sell

Every item must fit Etsy's Creativity Standards. Resold ready-made items generally don't qualify, and Etsy can remove listings that break the rules, with the fees still owed.

Search that needs work

Etsy matches your tags to what shoppers type, and each listing gets up to 13 tags of 20 characters or fewer. Generic or repeated tags waste those chances.

Is Etsy right for you? An honest answer, including when to wait.

A good fit if

  • You sell handmade, personalised or vintage items (20 years old or more), or products made from your own original designs.
  • You use a production partner or print-on-demand service for your own designs and are happy to disclose it in your listings.
  • You have a growing range of listings, variations and personalisation options that take time to keep up to date.
  • You sell gifts and personalised pieces. See how we help handmade and personalised businesses.

Think twice if

  • You resell ready-made products. Etsy doesn't allow resold commercially available items unless they're vintage, craft supplies or qualifying party supplies, so a general marketplace may suit you better.
  • Your margins are thin. On each sale you pay a 6.5% transaction fee, 4% + £0.20 payment processing and a 0.48% regulatory fee, before listing fees, ads and any VAT on fees.
  • You can't keep up with service standards. Etsy says consistently missing its customer service standards may affect your search visibility and shop status.
How we help

What we do on Etsy. Run alongside every other channel, from one catalogue.

Tags, titles and listing SEO

We research the phrases your buyers actually search for and use all 13 tags on each listing, with varied, specific phrases and buyer-minded terms like "gift for her" where no attribute covers them. Then we tidy titles, attributes and photos to match.

Listing optimisation →

Creativity Standards checks

We check every listing fits one of Etsy's four categories: made, designed, handpicked or sourced by you. We make sure production partners and AI-assisted designs are disclosed as Etsy requires, so listings aren't removed.

Account health →

Pricing with fees in view

We build every fee into your prices: the listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, 4% + £0.20 payment processing and 0.48% regulatory fee, so discounts and free postage offers still leave a profit.

Pricing and Buy Box →

Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads

We manage Etsy Ads within a daily budget you set. We also help you decide whether to stay in Offsite Ads while your shop is under the 10,000 USD threshold where opting out is still allowed.

Marketplace advertising →

Orders, messages and Star Seller

We keep personalisation details accurate, dispatch on time with tracking and reply to messages quickly. Those are the standards behind Etsy's Star Seller badge.

Orders and customer service →

Reporting that shows profit

Each month we show your sales, fees, ad spend and best-selling listings in one report, so you can see what each product actually earns after Etsy's fees.

FAQ

Etsy questions.

How much does it cost to sell on Etsy in the UK?
Each listing costs 0.20 USD (shown in your currency) and lasts four months. When an item sells you pay a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price, postage and gift wrap, payment processing of 4% + £0.20 and a 0.48% regulatory operating fee. These fees exclude VAT, and a one-time set-up fee may apply when you open your shop.
What can I sell on Etsy?
Etsy's Creativity Standards allow four types of item: made by you (including with tools like a laser cutter or 3D printer), designed by you, handpicked by you (vintage items 20 years or older, items from nature and themed gift baskets), and sourced by you (craft supplies, party supplies and items personalised with the buyer's own text or image). Resold ready-to-use items, such as blank t-shirts, don't qualify.
Can I use a production partner or print on demand?
Yes, as long as the design is your own original work. You must disclose that a production partner makes the item and give accurate information about where it's dispatched from. If you create designs with AI tools from your own prompts, you must say so in the listing description.
What are Offsite Ads and can I opt out?
Etsy pays to advertise listings on other sites, such as social networks and search engines. If a buyer clicks one of those ads and orders from your shop within 30 days, you pay 15% of the order, or 12% once your shop has made 10,000 USD in sales over the previous 365 days. Below that threshold you can opt out. Above it, taking part is required, and the fee on any single order is capped at 100 USD.
How do tags work in Etsy search?
A tag is a word or short phrase describing your item, and Etsy matches tags with what shoppers search for. You can use up to 13 tags per listing, each up to 20 characters. Etsy recommends accurate, varied tags, including buyer-minded phrases like "gift for her" where no attribute covers it.
Does the Star Seller badge help my ranking?
Etsy says the badge doesn't directly affect search ranking, but it helps buyers spot shops with strong service. To qualify over the past 3 months, you need to reply to 95% of first messages within 24 hours, dispatch 95% of orders on time with tracking, keep a 4.8+ average rating, and have at least 5 orders and 300 USD in sales.
