Product feeds

Product data that's right once, and right everywhere.

We build and maintain the product feeds that carry your catalogue to each marketplace: barcodes, attributes, variations, prices and stock, mapped to every channel's own template.

The problem

Every marketplace wants your product data in a different shape, and small errors stop products going live.

We keep one clean master copy of your product data and map it to each marketplace, so a change made once reaches every channel.

Barcodes that fail checks

Amazon checks EAN and UPC barcodes against the GS1 database, and codes that don't match are treated as invalid and removed. That's why Amazon tells sellers to get barcodes directly from GS1, not from resellers.

Templates that don't match

Amazon uses category templates, eBay relies on item specifics, and retailer marketplaces such as B&Q run on Mirakl, a separate marketplace platform. Each has its own required fields, and rekeying data by hand creates errors.

Changes that don't reach every channel

A new price, a discontinued colour or an extra size has to be updated everywhere you sell. Miss one channel and you're selling something you can't send.

What we do

What's included. Done by the people you talk to.

Product data audit

We gather what you already have, from spreadsheets, your website or your stock system, and find the gaps: missing barcodes, attributes, dimensions, weights and images.

Barcodes and identifiers

We check every GTIN (the barcode number, usually an EAN in the UK) is valid and comes from GS1, as Amazon requires. Where a product genuinely has no barcode, we apply for an exemption. More in our guide to GTIN barcodes.

Feed creation and mapping

We map your data to each marketplace's template and category, from Amazon inventory files to Mirakl-based retailer marketplaces such as B&Q.

Variations done properly

Sizes, colours and pack sizes are grouped into parent and child listings, so shoppers see one product page with options, not ten separate listings. On Amazon, size and colour belong in the child titles, not the parent.

Bulk uploads and updates

We upload new products and changes in bulk rather than one at a time. On Amazon, for example, fields such as search terms can be updated across many products at once with an inventory file and a partial update.

Ongoing catalogue care

New lines, discontinued lines, price changes and seasonal ranges, kept in step on every channel. Larger catalogues of 500 to 2,000+ SKUs get advanced catalogue management.

What you get
  • Products that go live without rounds of rejected uploads.
  • One set of product data, kept accurate on every channel.
  • New products added in bulk, not one by one.
  • Barcodes and identifiers that pass marketplace checks.
How it works

From first call to running.

1

Collect

You send what you have. We pull it into one master file and list what's missing.

2

Clean

We fix titles, attributes, units, barcodes and images so the data meets each marketplace's requirements.

3

Map and upload

We map the master file to each channel's template, upload it and work through every error report until products are live.

4

Maintain

Price, stock and range changes are made once and sent to every channel. Stock and orders sync across every channel and your website, with every order in one place.

FAQ

Product feeds questions.

What is a product feed?
A product feed is a structured file of your product data: titles, descriptions, barcodes, prices, stock, images and attributes. Marketplaces read it to create and update your listings in bulk, rather than someone typing each one in.
Do we need barcodes for every product?
For most Amazon categories, yes. New product pages usually need an identifier such as an EAN, and it should come directly from GS1, because Amazon checks codes against the GS1 database. Where products genuinely have no barcode, Amazon lets you request an exemption, though the rules vary by category.
Can you work from our website or Shopify data?
Yes. We start from whatever you already hold, whether that's a website export, a spreadsheet or a stock system, and build each marketplace feed from it.
What happens if a marketplace rejects an upload?
Each marketplace sends back an error report. We work through it line by line, fix the data and upload again. Common causes are missing required attributes, invalid barcodes and images that don't meet the rules.
How many products can you manage?
Anything from a handful of products to 2,000+ SKUs. A SKU is each product variation you sell, so a dog bed in three sizes is three SKUs. The number of SKUs is one of the things that shapes your quote, which we give after a free 20-minute demo.
