OnBuy management that makes a second marketplace worth the effort.

OnBuy gives your business another place to sell, in the UK and across Europe, with published fees and no listing charges. We set it up properly and handle the daily admin, so it gets real attention without taking hours out of your week.

Selling on OnBuy

OnBuy is easy to join and just as easy to neglect.

We run your OnBuy account day to day alongside your other channels, from catalogue matching and pricing to synced stock, orders and reporting, so it gets proper attention without taking yours.

Barcode mix-ups

OnBuy runs a catalogue system, so products must be created with the correct manufacturer brand and barcode. A wrong GTIN puts your offer on the wrong page or stops it going live.

Fees not priced in

The standard selling fee is 15%, and some categories differ. A price that works on your own website can lose money here if nobody checks it.

Another channel to watch

Orders, stock levels and delivery templates all need attention, and more so if you switch on other countries. When it runs on spare time, dispatch slips and reviews suffer.

Is OnBuy right for you? An honest answer, including when to wait.

A good fit if

  • Businesses already selling on Amazon, eBay or their own website with a healthy review history, since OnBuy asks for one when you apply.
  • Businesses with barcoded products in everyday categories such as home, garden, DIY, toys, and health and beauty.
  • Businesses that want another UK channel with published fees, no listing charges and no long contract.
  • Businesses curious about selling into Europe from one account rather than opening a separate marketplace in each country.

Think twice if

  • If you're brand new to selling online, you may not qualify yet. OnBuy asks for 50 reviews from the last 12 months with at least 90% rated 4 or 5 stars.
  • Other sellers can usually list against the same product page, so you often compete on price and delivery. Only private label owners with a UK or EU trademark can apply to restrict this.
  • Selling abroad takes real work: translated listings, a returns option in each country, and duties, taxes and delivery built into every price. For most businesses OnBuy works best as an extra channel, not the main one.
How we help

What we do on OnBuy. Run alongside every other channel, from one catalogue.

Setup and approval

We prepare your application, business documents and VAT details, pick the package that suits your catalogue, and set up delivery and returns.

Marketplace launches →

Catalogue matching

We match your products to existing OnBuy pages by barcode or create new ones, using import templates or your channel integration so stock and prices stay in sync.

Product feeds →

Clear product content

Where you create the product page, we write plain, specific titles and descriptions and add good images so shoppers know exactly what they're buying.

Listing optimisation →

Pricing against fees

We price each product with its category fee in mind and keep an eye on competing offers on shared product pages.

Pricing and Buy Box →

Orders and messages

We keep dispatch, tracking and customer replies on time, because slow service costs you reviews.

Orders and customer service →

Boost, used carefully

If OnBuy Boost makes sense, we test it on products with enough margin to carry the extra percentage and report on what it returns.

FAQ

OnBuy questions.

How much does it cost to sell on OnBuy?
At the time of writing (October 2026), plans are £25, £69 or £249 a month, subject to VAT where applicable, with the Partner and Professional prices shown as offers running until January 2027. On top of that you pay a selling fee on each sale: 15% as standard, with different rates in some categories and a £0.25 minimum per item in the UK. There's no listing fee and no separate transaction fee.
Can a new business sell on OnBuy?
It depends on your track record. OnBuy asks for a link to where you sell now and 50 reviews from the last 12 months, with at least 90% rated 4 or 5 stars. If you're not there yet, building reviews on another channel first is usually the quicker route.
Do I need barcodes to sell on OnBuy?
Usually, yes. OnBuy builds its catalogue from barcodes, so products need GTINs unless they aren't normally barcoded. If you own a UK or EU trademark for your brand, you can apply for a barcode exemption.
Can other sellers list on my product pages?
In most cases, yes. Any seller with the same product can match to an existing page by its barcode. Private label owners with a UK or EU trademark can apply for OnBuy's Brand Ownership feature to restrict this.
Can I sell outside the UK on OnBuy?
Yes. One OnBuy account covers 21 countries, including Ireland, France, Germany and Spain, with no extra fee to switch them on. You'll need translated listings, a returns option in each country, and bank accounts (or WorldFirst or Payoneer) in the right currencies.
When does OnBuy pay me?
Once you dispatch, OnBuy calculates a payment date, typically 7 days after the expected delivery period ends. You can withdraw as soon as funds are available or set up a monthly withdrawal.
